United Methodist Women (UMW) The United Methodist Women are a group of women within the church who, through care, fellowship, love & support to each other, engage in various mission projects with emphasis on women, children, the elderly and the disadvantaged - in and outside of the church.
The Methodist Women initiates the annual church collection for its Infant Layette Ministry, the ongoing Sharing Cross food & clothing collections & distributions, and oversees church ministries in its part to serve The Baldwin Center – Pontiac, Meals on Wheels, Cass Community Social Services and Central United Methodist - Detroit’s N.O.A.H. “(Networking, Organizing, Advocating for the Health of the Homeless) Lunch Program.
Their service to a community organization each week, enables the Methodist Women to extend substantial monetary support to many local, national & global missions.
The Methodist Women gather as a combined group on the second Wednesday evening of each month with smaller group meetings on the third Wednesday and third Tuesday morning and offers participation in various women's book studies, special events, seminars and conferences on a local and national level.
